Bundled solution designed for every restauranteur offers unique management tools, reporting features and secure payment acceptance

TORONTO–Moneris Solutions, Canada’s largest processor of debit and credit card payments, today announced the addition of Lightspeed Restaurant to its suite of iPad point-of-sale (POS) solutions. The all-in-one management tool for full-service and fast food restaurants debuted at Restaurants Canada’s RC Show, and comes as part of an evolving partnership with Montreal-based software company Lightspeed POS Inc. The product marks Moneris’ first cloud-based iPad POS solution catered to restauranteurs in the province of Quebec.

The partnership with Lightspeed provides businesses anywhere in Canada with a modern POS and reporting system to create memorable restaurant experiences for patrons. Offering tiered hardware packages and à la carte options, Moneris delivers products fitted to help small-to-medium businesses efficiently manage their operations from the back-of-the-house to the dining room floor.

“The restaurant industry in Quebec is among the strongest in Canada, based on what we have seen in annual transaction data and industry forecasts,” said Malcolm Fowler, Chief Product and Partnership Officer at Moneris. “We are proud to partner with Lightspeed to extend our iPad POS solutions and end-to-end customer service into Quebec. By delivering essential software, hardware and accessories that meet provincial sales mandates, we are combining convenience and control, and placing it in the hands of business owners.”

Moneris recognizes the opportunity and growth in this uniquely regulated and fast-growing market that is often underserved. In 2017, there were 22,600 restaurants, bars and caterers in Quebec, and a reported $15 billion in annual sales generated by the restaurant industry.1 Lightspeed is the first company to manage cloud-based versions of the Sales Recording Module, or modules d’enregistrement des ventes, an in-store device that Quebec restaurants must use to report sales to the government.

“Our advanced and easy-to-use POS software is igniting restaurant businesses across Quebec, allowing them to make smarter business decisions and fueling their growth,” said Peter Dougherty, Director of Partnerships at Lightspeed. “We are excited to partner with Moneris to offer more Canadian restauranteurs an intuitive cloud solution to manage their business. This partnership also creates new efficiencies to bring the focus back on the customer.”

Available in English and French, Lightspeed Restaurant comes backed with the reliability of Moneris’ 24/7 customer care, Concierge and Installation Services, and secure payment processing. It is equipped with modules to manage back-office operations, tableside and self-ordering menus, floorplans, staff training, and inventory. The solution also boasts centralized customer and location management features to help businesses elevate their hospitality business as they grow.

Moneris is Canada’s largest provider of innovative solutions for mobile, online and in-store payments, processing more than one in three transactions. Serving businesses of every size and industry, Moneris offers hardware, software and solutions to help transform the way businesses grow and operate, in payments and beyond.

Lightspeed’s easy-to-use, omnichannel commerce-enabling SaaS platform supports small and medium-sized businesses by providing them with the critical functionality they need to engage with consumers, manage their operations, accept payments, and, importantly, grow their businesses. Lightspeed’s platform can be found in more than 100 countries, powering favorite local businesses, where the communities go to shop and dine.
