Vantiv launches support for Apple Pay on the web

CINCINNATI -- Vantiv, Inc., a leading provider of payment processing services and related technology solutions for merchants and financial institutions of all sizes, today announced its support for Apple Pay on the web. Apple Pay will allow eCommerce websites to offer checkout in a single touch for customers shopping in Safari on iPhone, iPad and Mac.

"For merchants, Apple Pay on the web is a game changer," said Sayid Shabeer, vice president of merchant product at Vantiv. "By making it easier for customers to provide payment and shipping information to websites, eCommerce merchants have the opportunity to significantly reduce abandoned shopping carts and appeal to a larger customer base, which boosts top line sales."

Vantiv clients are already praising Apple Pay's new capabilities, and how it will help their consumers.

"We are continually looking for ways to use our payment technology to bring efficiencies to the online marketplaces and vertical markets we serve," said Tom Villante, YapStone chairman and chief executive officer. "In partnering with Vantiv, we have the ability to use Apple Pay, an emerging and innovative technology that removes the friction of making and receiving payments. We are proud to partner with Vantiv, and our customer, HomeAway, to be among the first to offer Apple Pay on the web."

Along with its announcement of Apple Pay on the web, Vantiv also unveiled additional offerings related to Apple Pay including:

* The Vantiv Mobile Accelerator Program for Apple Pay - a fast-track program aimed at helping merchants and Independent Software Venders (ISVs) already processing with Vantiv to quickly adopt Apple Pay solutions.

* The Vantiv O.N.E. Apple Community - a comprehensive set of technical and support resources that make it easier for developers to integrate Apple Pay in-app and web-based payments with various Vantiv payment platforms and technologies.

"Every day more and more consumers are choosing to make eCommerce purchases from mobile phones and tablets," said Tony Rose, who leads who leads emerging product initiatives at Vantiv. "The Vantiv O.N.E. Apple Community aims to help software developers and merchants implement Apple Pay on the web and Apple Pay in-app more quickly and with less effort, so that merchants and customers alike can benefit from these important technologies."
