P$ Mobile Service logs over 100,000 transactions
MONTREAL-- Stationnement de Montréal has announced that P$ Mobile Service, the remote payment solution launched last June enabling users to pay for parking fees, has already logged over 100,000 transactions. Since its launch, its use has increased steadily each week.
To date, more than 42,000 people have downloaded the application. "We've noticed that P$ Mobile Service is a big hit among motorists using on-street parking, said Charles Auger, General Manager of Stationnement de Montréal.
That number may soon grow: Stationnement de Montréal has launched an ad campaign designed in collaboration with TC Media. Beginning on September 11, it will be disseminated through various signage, print and television ads, as well as mobile applications.
TC Media's mobile solutions team developed Stationnement de Montréal's remote payment solution. The P$ Mobile Service is available free of charge on iPhone, BlackBerry ® and Android™ devices, as well as on the web. Motorists can also download the application on their smartphones by scanning the QR code displayed on street-level parking meters.
This service enables users to pay for or renew their payment on their parking space from their smartphone or computer quickly and simply, without having to drop everything they're doing.
To use the service, the user must first create an account, then open a session and enter the appropriate parking space number and the desired parking period. Users have the option to be alerted about 15 minutes before their parking period expires, so that they may remotely renew it. A $0.40 service charge will be applied to each transaction to cover this new remote payment solution's development and operational costs, as well as ensure the service's maintenance and technological evolution.
