Hydro Ottawa rolls out brand new e-billing campaign

OTTAWA--Hydro Ottawa launched its new "Go Paperless" campaign to encourage customers to switch to electronic billing.

Hydro Ottawa customers who register for E-Billing between September 5th and December 31st will have a tree planted on their behalf in the Ottawa area. Hydro Ottawa has partnered with Trees Ontario, a not-for-profit organization committed to enhancing Ontario's forested landscape.

"Hydro Ottawa is proud to partner with Trees Ontario and support local forests," said President and CEO Bryce Conrad. "We are encouraging all of our customers to go paperless and sign up for this convenient, secure and environmentally friendly service. Not only will we save paper by not printing bills and inserts, we'll plant a tree on the customer's behalf in the Ottawa area".

E-Billing is offered through Hydro Ottawa's online customer portal, MyHydroLink. Once customers have registered, they can view, manage and store bills online. Instead of receiving a paper bill by mail, customers will receive an email when their bill is ready.

"We applaud Hydro Ottawa who, through this campaign, has contributed to increasing tree planting efforts across our landscapes," explains Rob Keen, CEO, Trees Ontario. "I encourage other organizations to follow their lead and incorporate forest restoration initiatives into their business practices. Planting new trees will help improve the health and well-being of all Ontarians."

As one of Canada's Greenest Employers for a third consecutive year, Hydro Ottawa remains committed to delivering service to customers with minimal impact on the natural environment.

Hydro Ottawa Holding Inc. (Hydro Ottawa) owns and operates two subsidiary companies, Hydro Ottawa Limited and Energy Ottawa Inc. Hydro Ottawa Limited is the third largest municipally owned electrical utility in Ontario serving more than 310,000 customers in the City of Ottawa and the Village of Casselman.
