Giesecke & Devrient opens new Personalization Bureau in Quebec
MUNICH AND TORONTO-- Giesecke & Devrient Systems Canada Inc., the Canadian subsidiary of global security technology provider G&D, has announced the opening of a new Personalization Bureau in Montreal, Quebec. The new Bureau will offer increased regional support and efficiency for existing and new customers within the province. It will also play an increased role in supporting the convergence of smart chip solutions for EMV, mobile security, transit and government solutions for driver's licenses, health, and identification.
"Considering the emerging changes in how we will use smart chip technology day to day, as well as the rapidly evolving mobile ecosystem, it is a perfect time for us to be here in Quebec," remarked Edgar Salib, president and managing director of G&D Systems Canada Inc. "As a native of Montreal, I appreciate the distinctiveness of business and culture in Quebec. We look forward to contributing to growth in the province with our trusted services and expanding our regional and global expertise."
The facility in Dorval, approved by Visa, MasterCard, and Interac, will service existing clients as well as provide the necessary provincial palette for a variety of evolving solutions in secure identification and mobile ecosystems. In preparation of this investment, G&D has been cultivating and training a team of local specialists dedicated to extending G&D's performance in mobile security, transit and government solutions in Quebec.
The Personalization Bureau follows the opening of a new state-of-the-art facility in 2006, ant the installation of the first North American TSM hub in 2008 ( Markham, Ontario).
This year marks G&D’s 50th anniversary in Canada. In addition to banknote printing and processing, payment and identification, to date, G&D has issued over 125 million credit and debit EMV chip cards to Canadians.
