Tenzing listed as third party service provider for MasterCard Worldwide and Visa Canada
TORONTO-- Tenzing Managed IT Services, a provider of hosting solutions for e-commerce clients, System Integrators (SIs) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) providers, has successfully registered for MasterCard’s Data Protection Program and Visa’s Cardholder Information Security Program. The two compliance programs are designed to enhance the security of payment transactions. Tenzing is now listed as a Third Party Service Provider that can store, process, and transmit cardholder data on behalf of the card brands’ merchants.
Credit card issuers and acquirers must use the PCI Data-Security Standard (PCI-DSS), and are responsible for ensuring that their merchants use service providers that are compliant with this standard. As a PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant service provider, Tenzing successfully completed the mandatory registration and validation processes for both the MasterCard and Visa programs.
“Since issuers and acquirers are responsible for any liability that may occur as a result of non-compliance, they need to make sure members, merchants and service providers maintain the highest information security standard,” says Brian Shepard, founder and CEO of Tenzing. “By leveraging Tenzing resources and expertise they don’t have to worry about non-compliance, and their merchants can focus on increasing their online sales, while we provide and operate the secure foundation that keeps businesses up and running around the clock.”
In addition to PCI-DSS compliance, Tenzing maintains major industry certifications including ISO 27001 and SSAE16 Type II.
