Prima Payments signs with Phoenix Managed Networks for Paysecure
ONTARIO-- Phoenix Managed Networks ( Phoenix) has announced a strategic relationship with Prima Payments Canada.
The multi-year reseller agreement will see Prima Payments distribute Phoenix’s PaySecure across Canada to ISOs (Independent Sales Organizations) who focus on SMEs (Small to Medium Enterprises) including restaurants and convenience store franchises.
“Phoenix PaySecure offers a quick, plug and play payments security solution and provides a versatile and fully secure retail network environment,” said Trevor Fall, executive vice-president of North American sales for Phoenix. “It is a complete data security service and aids merchants in overcoming the complexity of implementing card industry PCI-DSS security standards”.
PaySecure has been developed to help merchants easily achieve and maintain compliance with PCI data security standards and is the first package to offer consolidated payments authorization. It starts at merchant locations, where the Mako 6500 network appliance locks down payment networks to PCI DSS criteria and provides a primary connection to the Internet. Each cloud-managed network appliance provides on-site network security, while the central management system is used to configure and apply continuous compliance monitoring tools and safeguards.
Dan Budhoo, director and general manager ( Canada) for Phoenix, said: “For ISOs and other technology resellers, PaySecure is an added value service which they can white label as part of their own offering to merchants. The significant benefit for ISOs is the ability to offer simplified PCI accreditation to merchants with fast deployment, management and monitoring of other in-store data applications, all under the protection of the industry’s first PCI-certified firewall system.”
“Since the introduction of EMV card technology in Canada, there has been a worrying level of complacency surrounding end-to-end payments security both with merchants and payment card users,” said Arnold Radford CEO of Prima Payments. “Merchants assume they are secure and the fact is that fraud is still a major problem here in Canada and internationally. PaySecure is the first PCI DSS compliant payment solution in the market to offer end-to-end payment card security at the point of sale.”
This deal is seen as the beginning of a long standing relationship between Phoenix and Prima Payment and is the third country Phoenix has launched into in 2012 after similar launches in Europe and the U.S. earlier this year.
