Best Buy's Reward Zone loyalty program named one of top in Canada

BURNABY--Best Buy, Canada's fastest growing retailer and e-tailer of consumer electronics, computers and entertainment products was recently proclaimed by MoneySense magazine to have the second best retail loyalty program in Canada with its Reward Zone(TM) program.

The ranking was based on a number of criteria, including the loyalty points accrued on purchases totalling $100 and the redemption value of those accrued points.

"We understand that consumers have a wide range of options when choosing where to buy TVs, laptops or video games. Reward Zone is one of the ways we can build a relationship with our customers and provide them value in a way that is unique to Best Buy," said Connon Bray, Reward Zone Senior Manager.

Reward Zone was launched in October 2007 with a strong response from loyal Best Buy customers and those shoppers passionate about consumer electronics and entertainment. In little more than two years, the program has grown rapidly to 2.5 million members, with nearly 100,000 new members enrolling each month.

"The growth of the program is a testament to the enthusiasm and excitement our customers have for consumer electronics. As well as helping customers save on electronics and entertainment products, through Reward Zone, we provide value in ways that can't be measured financially - by delivering backstage access to events and concerts and opportunities to see NHL games and even meet the players, we are providing an experience that many customers wouldn't normally be able to have - that is the difference Reward Zone brings to our customers."

Open to all Canadian residents of legal age and free of charge, Best Buy's Reward Zone Loyalty Program allots one point per dollar spent at Best Buy's Canadian online store as well as its 60 plus retail locations from coast to coast. Four hundred points equal a five dollar reward certificate which can be used toward the purchase of nearly any product or service in store.

In addition to this points-based reward system, Best Buy also offers exclusive member-only privileges like limited time sales, product pre-orders, pre-sale concert tickets, events and contests through its Reward Zone(TM) Loyalty Program.

Best Buy stores in Canada are a division of Burnaby, BC - based Best Buy Canada Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Best Buy Co., Inc (NYSE: BBY).
