VeriFone reimagines retail and powers the future shopping experience
NEW YORK-- VeriFone Systems, Inc. today, reveals its next generation payment solutions and invites retailers to reimagine interaction, mobility, security and globalization.
New solutions introduced today expand VeriFone’s market-leading point-of-sale business with new multimedia, mobile technology, payment paradigms and cloud-based services that simplify and enhance the retail experience.

Traditional point of sale
Debuting today is VeriFone’s MX 900 series, the next generation of VeriFone’s best-selling MX family. The MX 900 line is the most sophisticated payment-enabled media solution that securely delivers powerful multimedia, content and payments to transform the traditional point-of-sale into a dynamic and intelligent point of engagement between retailers and consumers. Retailers can push relevant content to consumers on the fly, accept mobile wallets, offer digital couponing and loyalty programs, and connect with location-based social media.
Appealing to consumers’ affinity for intuitive and exciting electronic devices, it packs the largest and brightest display in the industry into a slim, sleek design. The first two solutions in this series, the MX 915 and MX 925, will be available in North America mid-year, followed by phased rollouts to other geographies.
Mobile point of Sale and Retailing
The latest in VeriFone’s GlobalBay Mobile POS and Retailing solutions are in action at forward-looking retailers across the US where innovation is just as important as fashion trends. These rich, cutting-edge applications allow retailers to service consumers wherever they are with engaging content on tablets and smart mobile devices such as the iPod touch, and tie into loyalty systems, link in-store experiences to e-commerce systems, and take payment from anywhere in-store.
Brighton Collectibles, C. Wonder Stores, GUESS and Eastern Mountain Sports recently revealed how they’re transforming tablets and smartphones into roaming shopper-friendly systems that can incorporate POS, shopping assistant, online catalogue and on-the-spot inventory management.
VeriFone expanded its mobile offerings today with the introduction of PAYware Mobile Enterprise for Tablet, a comprehensive secure payment acceptance solution compatible with VeriFone’s GlobalBay Mobile POS and Retailing solutions. Initially available for Apple iPad 2, PAYware Mobile Enterprise for Tablet provides the same award-winning card acceptance technology used with the iPod Touch and supports end-to-end security with VeriShield Total Protect card data encryption technology. The solution accepts traditional cards, PIN, EMV smartcards and NFC smartphone transactions. The built-in 2D barcode scanner makes inventory tasks and couponing easy.
VeriFone is putting Google Wallet at thousands of checkout lanes for the majority of retailers accepting this payment method.
In addition to Google Wallet, NRF attendees will have the opportunity to experience the Isis Mobile Commerce Application at VeriFone’s booth. Isis is the joint venture between AT&T Mobility, T-Mobile USA and Verizon Wireless.
Expect to see VeriFone expanding the world of digital payments and mobile wallets including PayPal PIN and PayPal NFC over the months and years to come.
Empower global solutions
VeriFone HQ, also introduced today, is an advanced estate management solution that spans multiple VeriFone platforms and integrates with other enterprise software systems. From a web-based control center, VeriFone HQ enables retailers to easily keep any POS system consumer ready by rapidly deploying new payment paradigms such as smart card and mobile wallet applications, social commerce applications and compelling digital content, including audio and video to customers. VeriFone HQ will be available this year as a VeriFone cloud-based solution.
