Chase Launches New Card
CANADA--Chase Card Services Canada, a division of JPMorgan Chase & Co., has announced the launch of the Amazon.ca Rewards Visa Card. It is the second in the Chase portfolio with the online retailer, joining the Amazon.com Rewards Card which launched in the U.S. in 2002.
“We are pleased to expand our partnership to include Amazon.ca with this new card for the Canadian consumer,” said Martin Parizeau, chief executive officer, Chase Card Services Canada. “Online shopping has been growing with Canadians taking advantage of global retailers. With the wide variety of items available for sale, Amazon.ca has become a leading online retailer within the Canadian marketplace. Chase brings strong capabilities in enabling online acquisition, which will allow us to seamlessly integrate the Amazon.ca Rewards Visa Card into the consumer’s online shopping experience.”
Cardmembers earn two reward points for every dollar spent on eligible Amazon.ca purchases and one reward point per dollar spent everywhere Visa credit cards are accepted. There is no limit to the amount of reward points cardmembers can accumulate and points do not expire. Other benefits of the Amazon.ca Rewards Visa card include a $15 Amazon.ca gift certificate upon approval and an automatic $20 statement credit every time cardmembers accumulate 2,000 points.
The new Chase card is also enabled with Visa payWave. Cardmembers simply look for the Visa payWave logo on a merchant’s terminal and wave the Amazon.ca Rewards Visa Card. There is no need to enter a PIN or sign a receipt for purchases under $50 in Canada.
